Client Onboarding Guide

A streamlined, encrypted process for submitting your tax and financial documents through the Intuit ProConnect ecosystem.

What to Expect

The Invitation

You will receive a secure email invitation directly from Intuit Link (our portal provider) requesting you to connect with GIS Financial Group.

Account Creation

Follow the link to create your secure login credentials. If you already use TurboTax or QuickBooks, you can use your existing Intuit ID.

The Questionnaire

Complete a brief digital questionnaire. This ensures we capture all life changes, deductions, and credits relevant to your specific situation.

Encrypted Uploads

Use the provided checklist to snap photos or upload PDFs of your documents directly into the vault. This keeps your PII out of unencrypted email.

Review & E-Sign

Once preparation is complete, you will receive a notification to review your finished return and legally sign your authorization forms digitally.

Document Preparation Checklist

Please gather these standard documents before accessing the portal. Your specific checklist inside Intuit Link may request additional items based on your questionnaire.

Individual Filers (1040)

  • Government-issued Photo ID (Front & Back)
  • Prior Year Tax Return (if a new client)
  • All W-2s from employers
  • All 1099s (1099-NEC, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-B, 1099-K)
  • Form 1098 (Mortgage Interest) or Property Tax Statements
  • K-1s from Partnerships or S-Corps

Business Entities (1120, 1120S, 1065)

  • Formation Documents (Articles of Incorporation/Organization)
  • Prior Year Business Tax Return (if a new client)
  • Finalized Profit & Loss (Income Statement) for the Tax Year
  • Finalized Balance Sheet for the Tax Year
  • Owner/Partner Information (Names, SSNs, % Ownership)
  • Records of Estimated Tax Payments Made
